The ladies headline the US Open today

If yesterday’s top half third round Ladies action at the US Open had you out of your seats, then don’t bother sitting down, as today’s lower half fourth round action will certainly have you jumping around.

On the Arthur Ashe Stadium, it will be the unseeded wildcard, Maria Sharapova of Russia against the 16th seed, Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia, in their first meeting.

Their match will be followed by the 9th seed, Venus Williams of America and the unseeded, Carla Suarrez Navarro of Spain.

This evening’s prime time match will feature the 3rd seed, Garbine Muguruza of Spain and the 13th seed, Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic.

Muguruza and Williams look set for a quarter-final clash.

The 30th seed, Julia Georges of Germany will battle it out against another American, the unseeded Sloane Stephens on the Louis Armstrong Stadium.
