Kevin Anderson advances to the second round of the US Open

It was a good start for South Africa’s Kevin Anderson at this year’s US Open Tennis tournament, as he sailed past JC Aragone of the USA, 6-3 6-3 6-1 on Court 5 today.

During the 1 hour 43 minute match, the 28th seed Anderson blasted 22 aces and 39 winners past his opponent, including winning the first and last points of the match with aces.

Anderson will now await the outcome of the Gulbis/Giannessi match to see who his second round opponent will be.
