World No. 15, Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain defeated Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia-Herzegovina 6-4 6-4, to claim the Winston-Salem Open title in North Carolina yesterday.
This is Bautista Agut’s second ATP title for 2017 – he also won the Chennai Open title in January.
In Connecticut, it was a hop, skip, jump and dance WTA title number one for the World No. 20, Daria Gavrilova of Australia, when she upset the second seed, Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia to win the Connecticut Open final, 4-6 6-3 6-4 yesterday.
With compatriot, Samantha Stosur, who defeated her in the Strasbourg final in May, still sidelined with a stress fracture in her right hand, Gavrilova is the current No. 1 Australian Ladies tennis player.
