Venus Williams outplays Jelena Ostapenko

In her 100th singles match, the nine-time Grand Slam champion, Venus Williams of America, gave the young 20 year old Latvian player, Jelena Ostapenko a tennis lesson on Centre Court today.

Despite a mixture of errors by both players, Ostapenko managed to curb the Williams net domination, but the 37 year old still showed her muscle as she blasted eight aces past the youngster. Ostapenko was not able to get her aggressive game underway and grew increasing frustrated towards the end of the second set.

The final score after 1 hour and 13 minutes was 6-3 7-5.
