Querrey ends Anderson’s run, Federer and Raonic through

South Africa’s Kevin Anderson’s fairtytale run at this year’s Wimbledon Championships came to an end today, when he lost a tough five-set match against the 24th seed, Sam Querrey of the USA, 7-5 6-7(5) 3-6 7-6(11) 3-6.

Querrey, will now battle his quarter-final match out against the top seed, Andy Murray, who defeated Benoit Paire of France, 7-6(1) 6-4 6-4.

The 3rd seed, Roger Federer of Switzerland, didn’t build up too much of a sweat in defeating Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov, 6-4 6-2 6-4.

Federer’s quarter-final opponent will be the 6th seed Canadian, Milos Raonic, who needed five sets to see off Germany’s Alexander Zverev, 4-6 7-5 4-6 7-5 6-1.

Also through to the quarter-finals are Marin Cilic and Tomas Berdych.

Cilic defeated Roberto Bautista Agut, 6-2 6-2 6-2, while Berdych battled it out against Dominic Thiem, 6-3 7-6(1) 6-3 3-6 6-3.
