Kevin Anderson gets the better of Kyle Edmund at Roland Garros

In a battle of the Johannesburg born South African tennis players, South Africa’s No. 1, Kevin Anderson, needed 3 hours and 58 minutes, including 24 aces to power his way past a spirited Kyle Edmund of Great Britain, 6-7(6) 7-6(4) 5-7 6-1 6-4 on Court 2 at the French Open today.

Anderson, a former top 10 player, who only returned to the ATP tour in February following surgery last year, is unseeded at this year’s tournament.

His fourth round opponent will be another big server in the 7th seed, Marin Cilic of Croatia, who was untroubled by Feliciano Lopez of Spain, winning their match 6-1 6-3 6-3.
