The unseeded American player, Coco Vandeweghe is on a roll and not even the World No. 1 can stop her!
Following the thrilling 3 hours and 23 minutes, five-set match between Roger Federer and Kei Nishikori on the Rod Laver Arena, Coco Vandeweghe needed just 1 hour and 8 minutes to further send the Ladies draw into shambles when she defeated Angelique Kerber 6-2 6-3 in front of a stunned crowd.
Vandeweghe will now do battle against Garbine Muguruza, who swept aside Sorana Cirstea 6-2 6-3 earlier today.
The other quarter-final match in this half of the draw will be contested between Venus Williams and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Williams continued her good form by defeating Mona Barthel 6-3 7-5, whilst Pavlyuchenkova defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-3 6-3.
