Day 4’s Round 2 day session at the Australian Open Tennis tournament proved to be a very lucrative one for the Ladies seeded players.
First up on Margaret Court Arena was the 5th seed, Karolina Pliskova, who continued her fine form by blasting Anna Blinkova away in 59 minutes. The score was 6-0 6-2.
Next up was the 6th seed, “pocket rocket”, Dominika Cibulkova, who found a rather challenging opponent in the form of Su-Wei Hsieh of Taiwan. Cibulkova needed 1 hour and 43 minutes to clinch the match 6-4 7-6(8).
Opening the proceedings on the Rod Laver Arena was Caroline Wozniacki, who didn’t waste any time either in dashing Donna Vekic’s titles hope with a 6-1 6-3 win.
The 9th seed, Johanna Konta followed Wozniacki on Rod Laver Arena, sweeping Naomi Osaka away, 6-4 6-2.
Other players to advance include Ekaterina Makarova, Elena Vesnina and Barbora Strycova.
